The 10th Sparkling Anniversary of Faculty of Education UTM, Igniting the Spirit of Emancipation and Future Great Teachers

Bangkalan - The 10th Sparkling Anniversary of Faculty of Education (FIP) Universitas Trunojoyo Madura (UTM) was successfully held on May 15, 2024.

The theme "Creativity, Innovation, and Emancipation" in the realm of women, this Anniversary is navigated through a series of competitions and educational seminars.

Present at the culmination of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of FIP UTM's Anniversary were the Vice Rector for Student Affairs of UTM, Deans, assistant deans of FIP, as well as Program Chairs and faculty members.

In his address, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Surokim, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed appreciation for the festivities of the 10th anniversary celebration of the Faculty of Education this year.

"The existence of FIP, especially concerning the accreditation of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, serves as a reference at UTM," he praised.

Surokim hoped that this activity can bring positive energy. We continuously convey this hope to the entire academic community of UTM.

"At the very least, bringing UTM to a position respected by many. Through hard work. Strengthening spirit. Working together," he said.

According to Surokim, the themes that had been created were relevant and very much in line with the social capital we need today.

"May FIP UTM produce outstanding future teachers who will bring honor to their alma mater and become role models in society," he hoped.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Education at UTM, Dr. Hani’ah, M.Pd., expressed her gratitude for all the support that has allowed the Faculty of Education to continue to thrive.

"Although the Faculty of Education is relatively young, our enthusiasm to be better is strong. Moreover, we are supported by lecturers and students who continuously innovate," he asserted.

According to reports, FIP celebrated the peak of its anniversary in line with expectations. Despite being a relatively new faculty, FIP continues to fervently strive to become excellent and high-quality.

"Furthermore, FIP also organized an educational seminar featuring an inspiring woman," he stated.

According to her, FIP UTM cannot be separated from the spirit of women's emancipation. One of them is by organizing the "Contemporary Kartini" seminar. Several activities, such as Dance Performances and Excellent UKM (Student Activity Units), as well as awarding prizes to the winners of competitions, and the FIP Ambassador Parade and the PDFIP 2004 Awarding, became a series of events to conclude the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of FIP UTM.

Faculty of Education at UTM Examines the Role of Women in the VUCA Era

Bangkalan - The Faculty of Education(FIP) of Universitas Trunojoyo Madura (UTM) held a seminar on the role of women in the field of education, on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. The event took place at the Mohammad Noer Meeting Hall and was attended by the Dean of FIP, Vice Deans, Heads of Study Programs within the FIP environment, faculty members, and students.

Mohammad Ahied, S.Si., M.Si., as the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Educational, elucidated in his address that the role of women is profoundly vital in navigating daily life.

"Women are also required to be more creative and productive, especially in participating to take on roles in the progress of education in this country," he expressed.

He hoped that the seminar could serve as a space for mutual learning and maximizing the best potential within women. The speakers include Dr. Sri Wahyuni, M.Pd from the Islamic University of Malang, and Dr. Hani’ah, S.Pd., M.Pd., Dean of the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training at UTM.

Sri Wahyuni serves as the Vice Dean I, Academic Affairs, in the of the FKIP at the Islamic University of Malang. In her presentation, Sri Wahyuni elucidated that the VUCA world referred to the current life circumstances characterized by rapid and unforeseen developments.

"VUCA stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity, abbreviated as Vuca," she stated.

Sri, her familiar name, served as a reminder that women should think forward.

"The womenfolk must be able to perform their roles effectively and have a real and positive impact," she asserted.

According to her, current life demanded humans to continually innovate, be creative, and be productive in order to bring about a good and excellent life.

Meanwhile, Dr. Hani'ah, in her presentation, reflected on the responsibilities of men and women. According to her, the role of women was divided according to nature and culture. "According to nature, women are tasked with childbirth, breastfeeding, and menstruation. Whereas according to culture, women are expected to do the laundry, cooking, and household chores," she stated.

Furthermore, Hani’ah elaborated that domestic roles should not hinder women from participating in other roles, such as being a policewoman, lecturer, or doctor. "Women should continue to be role model agents of change," she concluded.

Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM) 4, Understanding the Prominent Culture of Madura

Bangkalan - D. Zawawi Imron and Herdyanto Wijayanto attended as speakers at the event "Inspiring the Charms of Madurese Culture and Cultural Tolerance of the Archipelago" of the Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM) 4: Nusantara Module at Universitas Trunojoyo Madura.

The event took place at the Syaikhona Cholil Bangkalan Hall on May 11, 2024, and was attended by the UTM Rector, Dr. Safi’, M.H., and the module lecturers.

In his address, the Project Manager, Hotniel Marbun, elucidated that the event was attended by 44 students comprising both public and private higher education institutions from various regions across Indonesia.

"The participants come from various regions. From Sabang to Merauke," Marbun said.

The hope was that this activity could serve as a bridge to introduce Madura to the participants who were currently taking part in the PMM program, getting to know Madurese culture.

"At the very least, they can become acquainted with the prominent culture of the Madurese society," he expressed.

Meanwhile, the Rector of UTM, Dr. Safi’ M.H., appreciated the performance of the supervising lecturers, group leaders, and other parties involved in the activities of PMM 4.

According to him, the activity was attended by students scattered from Sabang to Merauke. They enjoyed the learning process together.

"Here we have the presence of D. Zawawi Imron, a renowned Madurese poet who has gained international recognition and is a source of pride for all of us, and who will be sharing with you," praised Safi'.

Safi hoped that this activity could teach students to be creative and to recognize the characteristics of Madurese culture.

LPPM UTM Holds National Accredited Journal Management Workshop in 2024

Bangkalan- Universitas Trunojoyo Madura menggelar kegiatan workshop dan pendampingan pengelolaan jurnal terakreditasi nasional di Gedung Graha Utama, pada Rabu, 24 April 2024.

Kegiatan tersebut digelar dalam rangka meningkatkan mutu kualitas publikasi yang terakreditasi nasional di Lingkungan Universitas Trunojoyo Madura.

Hadir sebagai pembicara Ir. Alfian Ma’arif, ST, M.eng dan Ir. Purwono, S.kom, M.Kom.

Dalam sambutannya, Wakil Rektor Bidang Akademik, Achmad Amzeri menegaskan komitmennya untuk mendorong agar UTM kian kompetitif.

Menurutnya, kehadiran dua pemateri di dalam workshop ini diharapkan bisa dimaksimalkan untuk banyak menyerap dan saling belajar.

” Kita maksimalkan agar belajar mengelola jurnal dari orang yang kompeten dibidangnya,” kata Amzeri.

Amzeri mengaku senang dengan semangat yang ditunjukkan peserta workshop dan berharap agar UTM terus bersaing dalam memperbanyak publikasi.

Dalam paparannya Ir. Alfian Ma’arif, ST, memberi materi seputar pemaparan managemen dan pengelolaan jurnal terakreditasi dan bereputasi.

Ir. Purwoto fokus pada materi mengenai pndampingan pengelolaan jurnal terakreditasi dan bereputasi. Sementara itu, Ari Basuki, wakil Rektor 2 UTM turut hadir dan memberikan materi seputar pemaparan tarif jurnal dan pengelolaan keuangan jurnal pada  UTM BLU.

Opening of the 10th Anniversary of the UTM Faculty of Education in 2024

Bangkalan – Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan (FIP) Universitas Trunojoyo Madura menggelar kegiatan Halal Bihalal sekaligus pembukaan Dies Natalis X di Gedung Graha Utama, pada 22 April 2024.

Kegiatan tersebut dihadiri oleh sejumlah undangan, mulai Civitas akademika UTM, para Wakil Dekan, Ketua Prodi, Kordinator program Studi, serta Mahasiswa.

Kegiatan tersebut dibuka Langsung Dr. Hani’ah, S.Pd, M.Pd, selaku Dekan FIP UTM secara simbolis dengan menabuh gong dan pemotongan tumpeng.

Fiyan Ilman Faqih, selaku Ketua Panitia menjelaskan rentetan acara Dies Natalis FIP UTM tahun 2024.

Menurutnya, kegiatan Dies Natalis kali ini terdapat beragam acara serta lomba yang diperuntukkan bagi Mahasiswa dan dosen.

” Lomba-lomba tersebut, bertujuan untuk mengasah kemampuan Mahasiswa serta meramaikan gebyar Dies Natalis X FIP UTM,” tegasnya.

Sementara itu, Dekan FIP Dr. Hani’ah menyampaikan banyak terima kasih kepada pihak-pihak, terutama jajaran Wakil Dekan Dan Kaprodi yang terlibat Dan terus mendukung kemajuan FIP.

” karena ini masih berkaitan dengan Momentum lebaran Dan saatnya kita saling memaafkan terlebih dahulu,” kata Hani’ah.

Dekan kelahiran Sumenep tersebut berharap,  kualitas Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan terus unggul dan kompetitip. Selain itu, juga menceritakan awal Mula FIP berdiri.

”  Harapan saya semoga UTM, terutama FIP bisa terus maju dan unggul kedepannya,” ungkap Hani’ah.

Hani’ah menegaskan bahwa keunggulan tidak semata milik Mahasiswa. Tetapi juga para dosen.

Membawa tema Pekan Pendidikan dan Ilmiah, pembukaan Dies Natalis X FIP UTM yang sekaligus halal Bihalal pasca lebaran 2024 ini berjalan lancar Dan hikmad. Kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan hiburan dan kegiatan ramah tamah.

Workshop Title: Strategy Preparation Workshop for FIBAA International Accreditation Visitation. UTM Rector Requests Maximum Effort from Working Team.

Bangkalan - Trunojoyo Madura University held a workshop on the Strategy Preparation for the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) International Accreditation Visitation for Programs within UTM, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

The workshop took place in the KH. Syaichona Cholil Meeting Room, Graha Utama UTM building, featuring two speakers, Aulia Rahmawati, Ph.D., from the East Java National Veteran University, and Novrys Suhardianto, SE., MSA., Ak., Ph.D., from Airlangga University, Surabaya.

Present at the event were UTM Rector, Dr. Safi’, S.H, M.H, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Achmad Amzeri, S.P, M.P, as well as the Deans, the International Accreditation Team, faculty representatives, student representatives, educational staff, and alumni. All these parties will later serve as assessors in the FIBAA accreditation.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Achmad Amzeri, S.P, M.P, as the chairman of the workshop organizing committee, expressed his gratitude to the team for their maximum effort.

This workshop is expected to serve as a forum for the international accreditation (FIBAA) team within UTM," expressed Amzeri. "At the very least, UTM can learn from experienced parties, especially the speakers, in preparing for the field assessment of international accreditation.

Both speakers present are individuals with significant experience and are part of the Quality Assurance Team at their respective campuses," expressed Amzeri.

Furthermore, Amzeri emphasized that Curriculum Preparation for OBE is an integral part of international accreditation preparation,

Initial preparation for internationally accredited programs: Introduction to FIBAA standards.

He also emphasized the need to maximize preparation for Social Sciences and ASIIN for STEM programs," he said.

From December 30th to 31st, 2023, documents for the submission of international accreditation for 3 clusters have been sent to FIBAA," he explained.

In 2024, we received information from FIBAA that the field assessment or international accreditation visitation for 7 programs within 3 clusters will be conducted. It will take place online for Cluster I on June 4-6, 2024, and offline for Clusters II and III in the fourth week of June 2024," he explained

In his speech, UTM Rector, Dr. Safi’, expressed his hope that the teams entrusted with this task would consider it an act of worship for the future quality of UTM,

May the preparation for the International Accreditation Visitation for the Study Program proceed as expected," he expressed.

Safi’ added that the team should work more seriously. At the very least, they should achieve a better status than the previous one.

Meanwhile, Novrys Suhardianto, as the speaker, outlined that in the strategy for preparing international accreditation.

Firstly, understand what internationalization program entails.

So, does UTM, which aims for international accreditation, already have an internationalization program?" Novrys stated.

Novrys explained the stages of the strategy for international accreditation preparation. Meanwhile, Aulia Rahmawati shared some of her experiences in handling preparations for international accreditation field assessments.

Visit UNIDA Gontor, UTM Focuses on Studying the Process of Establishing a Medical Faculty

Bangkalan - Trunojoyo Madura University (UTM) conducted a study visit to Darussalam University (Unida) Gontor, East Java, on Monday (4/3/2024).

The study visit was attended by UTM Rector, Dr. Safi’, S.H, M.H, Vice Rector, Chair of the Quality Assurance Team (APT), internal UTM assessors, APT Task Force, and the medical task force.

The participants of the study visit from UTM were warmly welcomed by the Vice Rector I of UNIDA, Vice Dean of Medicine, Chair of the Quality Assurance Body of UNIDA, and members of the UNIDA Quality Assurance Body.

Dalam sambutannya, Rektor UTM, Dr. Safi’ menegaskan maksud kedatangan dan tujuan berkunjung ke Universitas Darussalam Gontor, untuk belajar praktik baik pendirian fakultas kedokteran

We intend to continue building relationships and hope to share best practices (in establishing a medical faculty) from UNIDA Gontor," expressed Safi’.

According to him, it is part of an effort to understand the processes at Unida related to quality assurance and the establishment of a medical faculty.

"Safi’ also expressed hope that MOUs and MOAs would be initiated with UNIDA, and there should be follow-up actions and implementation," said Safi’.

"Safi’ conveyed that in the future, there should be sharing activities between UNIDA Gontor and UTM,"

"UTM currently does not have international programs or international students. There are other constraints that need to be addressed," he said.

"After the speeches from both UTM and UNIDA, the event continued with introductions from the UNIDA team. It was followed by a sharing session regarding the process of establishing a Medical Faculty."

Study Visit to UM, Document Preparation Team Solidifies Preparations for UTM's 2024 Reaccreditation

Bangkalan - In preparation for the Institutional Reaccreditation of Universitas Trunojoyo Madura (UTM), which is due in November 2024, the Quality Assurance Team (BPM) of UTM visited Malang State University (UM) for a study visit.

The UTM Accreditation Document Preparation Team assigned to the Comparative Study group consists of Prof. Masduki, Dr. Kurniyati Indahsari, M.Si, Dr. Devi Rahayu Sh, M.Hum., and Dr. Nurhayati, along with Trischa and Yeni, on Thursday (29/02/2024).

The activity is expected to fully support the process of preparing the UTM re-accreditation documents for 2024. Notably, UTM is aiming for an "Excellent" accreditation result this year.

Based on the Ministerial Regulation of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology No. 53 of 2023 on Quality Assurance in Higher Education, 2024 is the last year that universities can achieve an “excellent” accreditation status. Starting the following year, the accreditation status of universities will only be categorized as accredited or non-accredited.

The UTM delegation was welcomed by Warsono, the Chair of the Quality Assurance Team at Malang State University, and the team. After a discussion session and Q&A, Warsono stated that follow-up activities from the visit need to be carried out.

Warsono said, "The team will immediately hold a coordination meeting to share the results of the visit to Malang State University."

Warsono added that the team responsible for preparing the reaccreditation documents should optimize their strategy, tips, and tricks for composing the re-accreditation documents.

"Every data requirement from each sub-team should be communicated as soon as possible for follow-up," he concluded.

US Consulate General Visits UTM, Promotes Scholarships and Introduces the American Corner

Bangkalan - The scholarship promotion and introduction of the American Corner by the United States Consulate General were successfully held at Universitas Trunojoyo Madura on Wednesday, (29/2/2024).

The event was attended by the Director of the International Relations Office (IRO) of UTM, Imron Wakhid Harits, Ph.D., as well as two representatives from the United States Consulate General (Konjen) in Surabaya, Ambar Ricky and Putuh.

Before the socialization event began, representatives from the US Consulate received souvenirs in the form of an Appreciation Certificate and a traditional amulet.

Held on the 1st Floor of the Cakra Building, the students appeared enthusiastic to attend the event. Moreover, the event was opened by the host in two languages, Indonesian and English.

In front of the attending students, Putuh explained various types of scholarships offered and the requirements that need to be fulfilled.

"If you are interested in studying abroad, please prepare all the necessary documents," said Putuh.

Putuh added that the scholarships can be accessed as long as the requirements are met. The scholarships offered are not only to the United States but also to Asian countries.

"Fulfill the requirements first, then dare yourself to register," he concluded. The event continued with a Q&A session and a group photo.

Signing MoU with Microsoft, UTM Equips Students and Alumni with AI-related Skills

Bangkalan - Universitas Trunojoyo Madura (UTM) signed an MoU with Microsoft Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam on Thursday, (29/2/2024).

The signing of the MoU is expected to equip students and alumni, especially in the field of AI.

Present at the event were UTM Rector, Dr. Safi’, M.H, and Director of Government Affairs at Microsoft Indonesia & Brunei Darussalam, Ajar Edi.

Ajar Edi, as the Director of Government Affairs at Microsoft Indonesia & Brunei Darussalam, explained that currently, there are significant job opportunities in the field of AI.

Ajar said, "9 million workers are needed in the field of AI."

Ajar added that this opportunity must be taken seriously.

Especially for UTM students who are focused on enhancing their skills and reskilling to prepare themselves for technological advancements.

"In the future, hopefully UTM alumni will be able to emerge as phenomenal graduates and will be able to reduce unemployment after graduating from university," said Ajar.

As the information, currently UTM has around 21,000 students. Meanwhile, the quota for the year 2024 has increased to 6,000.

Meanwhile, this collaboration was initiated by the Student Development & Career Center (SDCC) of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISIB) at UTM. In her speech, the Dean of FISIB UTM, Dr. Dinara Maya Julijanti, welcomed the collaboration with Microsoft.

Dinara is optimistic that through this program, graduating students will already have a clear vision of whether they want to start their own business or work.

"So that UTM graduates will no longer be confused," said Dinara.

Dinara urged FISIB alumni not only to seek employment but also to create innovation and become entrepreneurs.

"Because in the digital era, we can work from anywhere. Currently, there are great job opportunities, but the challenges are also significant," she concluded.
